PANHANDLE-PLAINS FOLKLIFE FESTIVAL

Panhandle cultural groups sharing music, dance, and other activities. Events and museum admission are free all day.

CECY TURNER PAINTING WORKSHOP
October 20-21, 2007


Popular artist and instructor Cecy Turner returns for a 2-day painting clinic in beautiful Palo Duro Canyon. Students may choose watercolor or oil paint as their medium to capture the spirit of the canyon from several different locations. Expertise is not required. Cost is $175 per person for PPHM members, $275 per person for non-members, or a special price of $250 per person which includes a PPHM Family membership. The fee includes painting instruction, transportation from the museum to Palo Duro Canyon State Park, all park fees, two lunches, water and snacks daily. Participants will provide their own materials and supplies. A suggested supply list will be furnished. Reserve by October 12, 2007. Contact Amy David at (806) 651-2233.


LLANO CEMETERY BY TWILIGHT

Did you know that ivy carved on a headstone represents immortality, attachment, friendship and undying affection? Or, that a sheaf of wheat symbolizes someone who has lived a long and fruitful life of more that seventy years?

Learn all about this and more as you tour the oldest section of Llano Cemetery and hear stories of past people and places, as told by Curator of History, Dr. Bill Green and friends.

Enter the cemetery from the 34 th Avenue entrance. Parking attendants and event hosts on site. Wear stable, comfortable shoes. Weather permitting. Cost: $5 per person; children under 3 years free. Proceeds to benefit PPHM and Llano Cemetery
