ENRIQUE ESPARZA (1828-1915) was eight years old when he went with his family to the Alamo seeking protection from Santa Anna’s approaching army in February 1836.  Enrique’s father Gregorio died in the final siege on March 6.  Sixty-five years later, Enrique was interviewed about the Alamo battle for the first time.
