Alyssa studied at The University of Texas at San Antonio where she obtained a B.A. and M.A in history. After graduate school, she taught middle school, but after a few years, she seized the opportunity to work as a Museum Educator for the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, where she developed an affinity for hands-on history.
As head of the Education Department, Alyssa develops lesson plans, STEAM related initiatives, in-museum school tours, outreach programs and PPHM’s Summer Camp- Boulders, Brands and Bones.
In her free time, she is an avid fan of Pinterest and enjoy studying historical fashion. She has a personal collection of eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth century fashion prints in addition to being a voracious reader of both fiction and non-fiction.
