Dr. Veronica Arias

Curator of Anthropology and Natural History

As the Curator of Anthropology and Natural History, Dr. Veronica Arias is responsible for the curation of PPHM’s archeology, ethnology, paleontology, geology, and biology collections. She received a bachelor’s degree with a double major in history and international relations from Boston University, and a master’s and doctoral degree in anthropology from the University of New Mexico. As part of her training, Dr. Arias participated in various archeological field projects in both North and South America. Her primary research focus has been on the development and application of geospatial technologies to a broad range of archeological questions. At PPHM, she divides her time between conservation and collections management, public outreach, and scientific research. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, exploring the great outdoors, traveling, and following the beautiful game of soccer.
