“With a thriving creative arts scene, eclectic mix of entertainment and die-hard sports—it’s safe to say there’s something for everyone [in Kansas City,]” boasts the Kansas City Convention and Visitors Bureau. It is safe to say as well the PPHM maiden Goodnight Circle Trip to Kansas City will feature something for everyone as well.
Members of the Goodnight Circle are invited to Kansas City December 5-8 to learn firsthand about the strong ties between Amarillo and Kansas City. The PPHM exhibit Cattle, Cowboys and Culture opening at the Kansas City library in September and then returning to PPHM in 2019 is the inspiration for the trip that highlights the link between the two cities. At both ends of the railroad lines, visitors to the exhibition will learn how cattle (as currency) helped fund the cultural pursuits and dreams of both cow towns to become urban centers in their respective regions.
Private tours of the National WWI Museum, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and of course a visit to the Kansas City Library for the Cattle, Cowboys and Culture exhibit will be on the itinerary with a stop for famous KC barbeque. And no trip to Kansas City in December would be complete without visiting Country Club Plaza to experience the spectacular lights. Cost per person is $800 and includes a shared room at the hotel President, all activities and select transportation while in Kansas City.
