One of our subtlest exhibitions is one you’ll pass through on the way to the museum’s other exhibitions. Before you reach our exhibits on art, history, or paleontology, you’ll enter Pioneer Hall--don’t miss it. This unique Art Deco building was constructed in 1932 and has been recognized by the state of Texas as a State Antiquities Landmark. It’s surrounded on the outside by more than 100 famous West Texas cattle brands. On the inside, you’ll find a variety of dynamic interior murals depicting life on the High Plains. Pioneer Hall is literally and metaphorically the gateway to the museum.
