The founder of the Panhandle-Plains Historical Society, Hattie Anderson, once noted,
“It is the sacred duty of ours to collect the record of life here and hand this on to the children of the future.”
We take this legacy seriously as we work to preserve the fascinating, complex history of the American West for generations to come—especially as our modern, convenient lives become further and further removed from the past. From the rich relationships that developed around a rustic chuck wagon to the artistry of cowboy culture, this area’s history is worth more than a passing glance. It deserves a deliberate, long-lasting preservation effort.
You can join us in this work in a variety of ways.
Click here to be a part of our family by becoming a member of PPHM
. Or go deeper than a visit by taking a hands-on approach as a museum volunteer.
Lastly, our work is sustained year to year not only by memberships but by generous corporate donations, memorial gifts, planned giving, and/or directed giving.
An investment in the museum’s future is an investment in Panhandle history
. Get involved today and make a difference.
